Default DTC wave 4 for Available for preorder from GI Joe Club!

I'm sure someone already probably posted on this, but what the heck. The GI Joe club has posted their exclusive DTC wave 4 figures. Breakdown is as follows;

Airtight and Cobra Officer for $28.99

Outback and Night Viper for $28.99

Munitia, Lt. Flacon and Python Copperhead for $40.99

Yeah, it's a little steep. (ok, it's VERY steep!) but if you're a 25th hater like me, it's what you have to work with.

They also have some deals for members;

2 Vamps with Double Clutch $20

2 Ram/Trouble bubble two packs for $20

a lot of comic two packs for $5 each (some come in sets of two for $10, or 3 for $15)

the GI joe 5 pack/ Cobra Legions pack, both for $26

Select Indiana Jones figures for $3

and a few VvsV 2 packs for $4.99

Oh, what came with Serpentors Air Chariot? I thought it was the RAM motorcycle!

You left out the ebay scalper $10 manditory shiping cost. bringing the prices up to about $20 a figure, also grouping the least desireable figure (copperhead) with the most desireable figure (Munitia) in a "Three pack" yeah I mean everything is on the up and up here.

Not really, you can just not buy them. I mean I like the figs but they are not worth $20 each. maybe $10 for rareity but that is pushing it.

But eventually these will work there way to the second hand market and no one will grab that steep price so the scalpers will lower it to be more reasonable to at least get something out of it.

Direct To Consumer.

After VvV, there was the creation of the 8" figures. Those were marketed as Sigma 6.

Due to wanting the 3.75" back, Hasbro created the DTC. 1st wave had... uh... errrrrr... Let's just say Major Bludd, Scrap Iron, Footloose, Major Barrage, Range Vipers, Crimson Guards, and a bunch of others made their appearances in small scale. DTC wave4 was canceled by Hasbro but due to the persistence of Joe fans, the GI Joe Club convinced Hasbro to produce them so they could sell them to the hardcores. (I mean let's face it, if you buy anything from the club, you gotta be pretty hardcore. lol)

I was reading Frank's post as you get BOTH Airtight and the Cobra Officer for $29. Am I reading this wrong. Cuz why would the club list these figures in 2-pack (and 3-pack) forms. Anyway...

I've decided to skip these. I was pretty wishy washy on wanting them but now, forget it. The o-ring figures that I have now are the ones I want (and have kept). You guys know me. I prefer whatever is the new thing on the block, even if they aren't overly cool. Cool in my book, not in others. And that's ok. I have weird tastes. I AM the only one who HATES Link Talbot, y'know?

Like the Rowdy Roddy Piper figures and the Grand Slam/StarDuster two pack that goes for $220 a pop on ebay? Don't get me wrong, you're right about them being too expensive, I just don't see them going down in price.

Yeah, and I was pretty ticked they didn't put the Night Viper and the Cobra Officer in a two pack, but you know what would happen! Sold out and the Airtight/Outback 2 pack would have like 450 left over sets!

Well, it's $42 a year. I get 12 newsletters and a free figure yearly. I also get discounts on Joe Club exclusives (Which are still pretty expensive!) to include Con sets. Is it worth it? If you're into the 25th, no! But if you're like me and Outrider and want the O ring ARAH Joes, it's about all you have left!

Thumbs down

Too much expensive. $70 for 5 figures.. 2 of them worthless (Falcon doesnt look like Falcon and the original Copperhead looks a lot better).

Except that both Starduster and Piper are very high demand, these were high demand two years ago and the heat has drasticly wore off.

On starduster/grand slam, the only auction I could find had a BIN of $219 but he had no bids (and looks like he would end without any) so is he really selling that much or is someone thinking they will find a sucker?

With piper I pretty much found the same. $299 no bids and ending within 24 hours. Just cause someone puts a bid high doesn't mean it will sell that high. I have seen yellowed storm shadows with massive paint wear with opening bids of $100 before, and also they ended with no bids.

But to be sure, the point is MC is scalping as bad as the scalpers here. The demand isn't there, look around the interwebs and it is obvious.
