It's Optimus Prime all the way for me! There are plenty of reasons to love the guy, but everything that makes him stand out for me is displayed by the "Megatron must be stopped... No matter the cost" sequence from Transformers: The Movie.

On a side-note, I've always wondered why so many folks hate Duke for being the perfect, poster-boy leader of G.I. Joe, but they love Optimus even though he's essentially the same thing for the Autobots.

(Not looking to start an argument here-- Just making an observation!)

i can answer that, at least for myself. duke and optimus, i hated them bot with a passion. never could stand the goody goody poster boy leader who always got to be the main player. then optimus got killed and we got rodimus, the worst leader in history, imo. i hated rodimus so much that i started to miss optimus. by the time he came back it was to late for the cartoon, but i had found respect for him only because i realized how great he was when we got rodimus.

now if duke had gotten killed as was planned and we had gotten someone like falcon to be the joe leader in the cartoon, i might(still doubtful), might like duke.

From the list in the poll I would have to go with OP. I really liked Iron Hide in the movie though. Optimus is very cool, he looks awesome, he is a friggin Semi, and he has had some real cool toys. My hate for Duke goes back to 1983, it is his original action figure. That "pull my finger" college preppy boy grin, you want to just smack him! I think if he would have had a no-nonsense snarl on his face, he would have been liked better.
