Attack Plan Alpha Dog 2 Diorama Short Story
A HUGE thanks to John at Marauders Inc... the dude is seriously all about the customer service! Anywho, his scwheet lady-lovely package arrived... so my son and I outfitted the ranger station! After viewing the pictures on the computer, we wanted to display them for all to see our finished dio from the inside!!! Take a look below!
Attack Plan Alpha Dog 2 -->
The Joe Alpha Team meets at a secret location to discuss the final one-time assault on the formidable Axis-of-Evil. Snake Eyes, using vivid hand gestures doesn't agree with the attack plan on Darth Vader. It's dangerous y'all ~ dude has a damn lightsaber after all...
Shipwreck loses his cool at half-past 3:00. Making a solid unbreakable fist, he slams it down and declares that Megatron can be defeated by luring him into the ocean and using humpback whales to pull him under... Duke's not so sure.
Beachhead declares "If I was the leader of this outfit, I'd long-bomb Cobra Commander's lifeless body into the barrel of Megatron's Pulse Canon, thus causing a thermonuclear explosion, killing all life in a 500 mile radius. Let's see the dark side survive dem' apples!" Duke says, "Good thing you're not the leader, now sit your ass down!"...
Everyone agrees to pick the low-hanging fruit first - Cobra Commander. Snake Eyes carefully motions to his pack which has some recovered Cobra-la Spores. Stalker reaffirms that the Crimson Guard are all at a Japanese Nintendo Wii launch party and won't be guarding the Commander.
There ya have it! Hope you enjoyed my rambling moronic diorama short story. Now go about your lives! This I command damn you! Now! Go!
Cheers! ~ Paul.

The Scene Setup
The scene setup for this one was very simple. I used black foam-board to block the sides and back. Then I used 2 LED flashlights about 3 feet above to light the scene, and I had standard 50Watt lightbulbs from my kitchen still on to give some good frontal lighting. Worked out great.
Here's a shot of the setup for ya:
Cheers! ~ Paul.

Here's the Alpha Dog Attack Plan
Here's the home-made image used for the battle board.
I basically image searched google for things, then threw them on a google-map of Japan. Used Photoshop CS3 to put it all together. Took about 1 hour from start to finish. Helps that I have a good color laser printer ;-)
Cheers! ~ Paul.
PS - I'll throw up the crazy high-res version of this image for anyone to use in the files section! Yo Joe!

Again, very cool set up you've got there. Great dio! Very funny stuff, too! And, yes, Marauder John is a king among men. Truly one of the great Joe fans and contributors the hobby.

Display.
Great use of boxes and a very nice display. Lighting helps so much with doing dio shots.
Marauder has some excellent stuff, some funny captions too for your poses.

Yes, growing up I only had access to the cartoon... I didn't get to grab the comics.. I have since read a few here and there of the original marvel run, and would love to have a full set to read.

I was quite surprised really... I see all the photos on the site with his stuff and I didn't know what to expect. The shipping was fast and he wrapped each item in a little ziplock and in tissue paper - all came perfect. Gave me a few guns and other things as freebees. I'll definetely buy some more stuff from him in the future.
Cheers! ~ Paul.

Exactly! I've placed 3 orders with him, in quick succession, and am working on another one for the very near future. Great communication, excellent shipping/packing, a couple of freebies, I mean, seriously...best online etailer I've ever dealt with. Heck, best retailer I've ever dealt with!
