Graham, Agreed....I just hate when people buy something because it's "IN". Especially when the quality is no better than other items of it's kind, it's just more expensive and has the "flavor of the day" designer logo or brand name! We can go on for hours about Oakley, Ray Ban, Jordache, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie and Fitch, etc. Point is, I personally try to avoid FAD or Designer buying. I've never even set foot in a Starbucks! I WILL NOT ever buy a MAC! And I'll will be flayed alive before I will ever get an IPhone! And if you see me wearing Tommy Hilfiger (unless my misguided Aunt got it for me as a present!) SHOOT ME! LOL!!

Unless I'm looking at a descpription of each SE from the RoC line, they all look alike to me, but then again, he's not my favorite character either. I've got nothing against him or Storm Shadow; they're both bad-ass in their own right and I actually love the concept of Snake eyes as a commando who is ninja trained, but I just don't get ecited over him. In fact, I only have a SE and SS becuase I got them in a lot with other figures I wanted.

Funny thing is the original post mentioned Firefly. I never though much about him until I read a comic featuring him and then realized what a bad ass he is (hence my first photo posted on this site). SS and SE have somewhere in the neighborhood of 4,829 different versions of their figure and Firefly has 20something. Almost every version of Firefly is the exact same mold. I love the mold though. I've got all but the Hall of Heroes new style Firefly sitting right infront of me as I type and with the exception of the latest TRU release, they're the same mold, just different paint, and that mold wih it's accesories is is basically the same as the O-ring mold, just with the new style. The TRU exclusive is the same body as the Resolute blue shirts and has become my favorite figure.

Where am I going with this? I have no idea, my ADD kicked in and I lost focus. So anyway, I think Empire is the best of the six, but ANH will always be my favorite.

I just skimmed the posts so this might already be here:

The articulation on him is the best I've come across in the whole 25th and ROC line, he gets cool gear, and the three figures I have are darn near flawless in paint applications as well as quality.

The visuals you get from the figure is great, he does have that appeal, but for me as a photographer its the articulation combined with the looks that makes this figure a win.

I just like him for the cool s**t that come with the figure. Hes okay as a figure, but nothing special.I saw one at Walgreens last night.Wasnt going to pay the 11.99 price tag.

I wasn't real impressed with the first pics I saw, but the figure is great in-hand. The articulation is great and the paint scheme works really well. The head sculpt is also top notch.

While he isn't my absolute favorite SE (82 style SE is my favorite), CS SE is certainly my second favorite, for a few reasons-

-He is practically 1/1 for the Resolute design:

Basically, as you all know, Resolute is pretty kick ass, and whats better then our favorite Ninja in the manner of Resolute? Not only is he a Reso version, BUT he is the only Resolute figure to date (with the exception of maybe CC) that is 1/1 screen accurate (save for the sword).

-The figure itself is a well designed, well articulated figure:

Resolute SE not only comes packed with accessories and gear, but he has one of the highest ranges of motion, thus making him a good source for parts and custom fodder as well. This is one of the handfull of figures that can properly shoulder a full size rifle. Plus his paint apps are amazingly accurate for a production figure.

-It's a true modern, Snake Eyes!

Dont get me wrong, I love the original designs (mainly V1 and V2) but I long for realistic, modern updates that dont involve accelerator suits. And this is just that.

All in all Im a huge sucker for the Resolute line, and while not officially a Resolute figure, he clearly is.

I got my first one months ago from asia for 16, then last week my girlfriend and I found one in walmart for 5 bucks (stashed behind some other toys, mind you). And I plan on picking up another for parts.

The character of Snake Eyes, whatever version, is overrated. From his first incarnation as a cost-averaging all black figure in the original line up almost fifty versions later he has somehow morphed into an indestructible superhero mythical ninja. Talk about overkill! If Hasbro had spent half the effort wasted on unending versions of Snake Eyes and had instead used some imagination and given us new characters the line would be a lot less boring and repetitive than it is today.

Like the mask he wears for Resolute. Seems a bit hockey or mortal kombat-ish. The conceptual stuff for VvV was kinda neat too. He wore the usual skintight mask but had another one over it. So for this version to show up playing around with that idea, it's kinda neat. He's not on the top of my list, but I got him on ebay (yet to come) and well... he'll prolly end up in the figures box. lol

As for SWATCH. Their watches were deemed pricey back then, but $30 then was different than $30 now or whatever. I had a few of them. They were decent watches and very 80s. I was what, 12? 13? What sort of watch would I wear?

Now Oakleys and there $100 msrps, geez... Gargoyles were like that too and now they are at Big5 for $15! LOL! What we have to pay for a name. (Nike, isn't it still pretty big?)

QFT.

Snake Eyes is much more interesting a character as part of the team-not as a solo artist.

I just wish he would have actually talked! The mystery appeal sucks after a while especially in the comics!
