"Me, Too..!" I've been coming here for a few months. I Actually had the nerve to post a few pics. I need a new Camera, but I can't afford one buying all the Joes and whatnot! LOL!

I got into collecting in 1982, bought the first GI Joe comic and traded Star Wars for GIJoe! I kept up with the complete collection until 1989. I was always interested in the Military, and in 1987, joined the US Army and became a Combat Engineer (Larry Hama!?!). I blew stuff up for 3 years and got out in 1990. I was recalled for Desert Storm in 1991, but never got deployed. Just went to Fort Leonardwood, trained and by then the war was over! Went to College when I got back, met my wife, graduated college, had a kid, (was more into Martial Arts in college than Joes) got out of college and tried to get back in the Army. When that didn't happen, I joined the USMC and have been in since 1995. I'm doing tactical data networking (former Army, now a computer Marine.....old....MAINFRAME, is that you??). In 2002, I met a guy at my last unit who collected GI Joes and I saw they had new figures out, so I got back into it. My collection went from 550 in 2002 to over 1,800. (i need a second Garage!) I'm in the seniors bracket, too I'm 38.....anyone older?? And if you think it's hard to do Dio stories in public, imagine doing it on a MArine Corps Base! Not Fun! LOL!

I don't offend easily and I have a bizarre sense of humor. I can take it, but I prefer to dish it out! LOL! Ask Outrider, I'll never quit ragging him for torching that bat! LOL!

The biggest problem with being Military is knowing too much about how the military works and getting too technical and not just enjoying the stories! (You should hear me yell when I watch Black Hawk Down!!)

Anybody got any questions about the Marine Corps, let me know!

Glad to be Aboard! Semper Fi!
I can help with the second garage! ;) :D

Since it seems like I've been posting pics on here for a little while I figured its about time to assemble my profile. I got into joes in 82' pretty heavily and of coarse through the years became disengaged, now that I've got 2 awesome sons I've been back on the toy kick. I only saved a handfull of my original joes but over the last year I've been amassing a new collection. I love posting pics over here and find it to be a good creative outlet in which I can stick close to home and the family. I also get a lot of inspiration from the other members here and enjoy the feedback from everyone. Anyhowz I'm gonna be 37 soon (OMG), live in the San Francisco bay area, love skateboarding although I feel my age catching up, beer drinking and bbqing (low and slow with wood not propane),Rockin out with my buddies, and of coarse hanging out with lovely my wife and kids. Livin the American dream (who woulda thought).

Like everyone else here I have been into Joes/Cobra my whole life, but I stopped collecting in 95. I would pick up a VvV from a Dollar General every now and thow. ;) The desire to collect again was reawaken by my boy LowJacked. I didnt know of any other guys/gals of my age that is into this kind of hobby. Thanks to him and the Joes alot of Childhood memories are coming back.
My problem with fanfic is that people get really technical. If you get 10 people on a JOe team, the writer has a tendency to tell us (the reader) what f'n weapon they are, the history of the weapon, what it looks like... I mean, it drives me bonkers sometimes. I tried writing my own, made it a few chapters and then lost energy. I would rather play and pose my Joes and make stories (you gotta figuer, when we played with them as kids, we had stories in our heads, even if they were incredibly lame and/or simplistic).

I guess I'm more interested in people's universes and how they do stuff than seeing the written word in black and white.
That's where I am. I can't write fanfic because all I ever read is either sooooo technical that I feel that I'm being lectured by a DI or it ends up turning into flash that has Destro shacking up with CC :eek: . I'm not into being a lecturer (If you learn something from me, go read more!) and flash just ain't my style (Can I say YUCK enough?). I have a larger universe in which Cobra is only one problem that the world faces. That being said, the GI Joe team isn't (gasp) the center of the stories (GI Joe Colton is a big part of it, though). I'm in the middle of reshooting some scenes to my first real dio (because the originals just lost their focus - storywise). Hopefully I can soon join the rest of you guys who put out the dio focus of this site.

This is pretty much cut and pasted from my Myspace...

First off I have an uber-hot girlfriend who deals with me and my antics, buys me toys, and loves GI Joe herself.
<img src="http://a156.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/32/l_ff53b6b6c3180c4f52e08e933f3b050b.jpg" width="200">

I am also lucky enough to play guitar in two of New Jersey's finest bands; Booze-Fueled Doom-Metal Juggernaut <a href="http://www.diedrunk.com/">SOLACE</a>
<img src="http://a593.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/32/l_bee801c42f0cdbb962105350f1ae7988.jpg"width="200">

and the Drug Addled Kings of Scumbaggery CALL THE PARAMEDICS.
<img src="http://a266.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/73/l_ad4b006027518d44d456a63c55b454c9.jpg"width="200">

When I'm not being a scumbag rockstar I spend my time visiting the graves of the famous, infamous, obscure and bizzare. You can see more at <a href="http://www.dead-trek.com/">DEADTREK</a>.

GI Joe has forever been a staple of my life. Countless hours of my youth were spent waging huge battles, watching the Sunbow series or reading the Marvel comics. As I got older music took the forefront, but now I find myself happiest setting up my ever growing collection of 25th anniversary figures.

Hi everyone,

My name is Mark, recently turned 34 and as a B-day gift to myself ordered the Toys R Us exclusive Firefly vs. Greenshirts pack from the online store. I'm finishing up a year in Korea, which is great 'cause Joe figures are hard to come by. The PX here doesn't get much; I've bought maybe a dozen 25th Anniversary figures total off the pegs so I'm several months behind.
It won't help any that I'll be deployed from Fort Bliss in May 09...I'll probably be watching a bootleg copy of the movie :mad:

My first figures were 1982 ARAH Straight-arm figures of Flash, Scarlett, Short Fuze and a Cobra Enemy for Christmas that year, and have been collecting ever since but for a break in '93-2002 (college, starting a family). I have a fraction of my classic 80's figures left; most were sold off on ebay to get money together for my other hobby playing guitar, bass, drums - whatever can churn out heavy rock.

Anyway, I go by the same name at HISStank.com and this is my second day here. I'm having a great time setting up photos, shooting 'em and sharing with you. There's a LOT of talent and creativity here and I'm very much looking forward to getting to know some of you.

WELCOME to all the recent victims, I mean, members. Shoot your pics as you will. This place... It's special. WE, the COMMUNITY, love seeing what people can do; no matter if it sucks or is great. A lot of us LOVE to help those who don't quite have the eye or technology down. We all start somewhere. Trust me, Lord Raven, Ender90210 and myself (the old guard) have helped a lot of people get their stuff tight. And while we might teach as much, the 2nd generation WILL!

A lot of people don't think they can shoot a picture. WHO CARES??? It's all digital, erase it until it's right! (lol) Seriously tho, we ALL played with the toys. There musta been a story in your head when playing with them. The next step (beyond writing fanfic, imo) is doing dios or even 1-shot scenarios that can tell the story. LOOK at any 1-shot (PHOTOS) and it tells a story.

Some of us older folk like the challenge of just pulling a figure from our collection (or a couple of figures) and see what we can do. THAT'S the joy of Weekend Warriors. "Here, the idea is to use General Hawk (upcoming) and see what you can do with him!" If you don't like YOUR shots, look at other people's and it can give you inspiration. I KNOW that Luke Ellison and Outrider blew my mind and I just HAD to learn how to do foto manipulation (ie; aerial shots). Then along comes someone like DaveCW90210 and MC HAMMER comes in and says, "CAN'T TOUCH THIS!!!"

ANd then, it comes down to style. I may have followed other people's examples but I've come up with my own style. For me to throw down DaveCW-style shots, it's not me. But... Find what works. ANd when the dios' stories are so incredibly strong, the photos are just icing on the cake!

Ok, ok, I'll shut up now...

Ive been posting on here for i think 2 mos now and havent really formally introduced myself. My name is Sean, just turned 34 09Sept. Im now a stay at home dad formally an EMT of 10yrs. My wife is a 911 dispatcher for the fire dept. Im now starting to restore vintage Vespa scooters. I can thank my time in the Airforce as an F-16 crew chief for my mechanical skills!!We have 3 Vespas and a Puch moped. <a href=http://www.rallypilotsc.com>Rally Pilots SC</a>
Here is the link to our local scooter club. I have the light blue vintage, my wife has the red one with the devil horns.

Im really happy to see all the new joe stuff coming out. I have a lot of great memories playing with my friends. I lost most of my vehicles in a garage fire when I was in high school. All my figures were saved since they were in an ammo box sealed up!! Most of you have seen my current project, the cobra fortress. I'll have new pics up soon. Im almost finished with the air conditioning duct work in the main control center. Of course there will be a way into the fortress via the ducts... Im such a perfectionist, im afraid it will take quite some time before im totally finished. It will probably be a continued effort of changing and making new stuff. Soo keep an eye out for the updated pics!! Cheers, Sean.

Oooh. Just found this thread after making an intro thread for myself -_- Sorry.

But anyway. I'm new here. Totally dig all the photos on here.

I don't make customs, apart from just head swaps, but that don't count. I do like setting up my figures and taking photos of 'em. It's sort of a hobby.

Quick question. What's the generally policy on incorporating other toy lines into photos on here?
