Lighting, what do you use ?
I have read a few threads on set lighting, and understand the basics of lighting, but what lights do you guys use, and where do you usually buy them from ? I am curious to see the variety that is out there, and see who has luck with what. It seems like most of my photos are to bright, or too dark unless I'm outside.

I use anything and everything. I use flashlights, christmas tree lights, the little "spotlights" from the Michaels Christmas and Halloween Town villages, the little flexible neck LED lights that come with a laser pointer from Walmart or AM/PM's, the little lights that you stick in closets that are battery powered and you just push on them to turn them on, floral string lights from Michaels. Every light gives it's own qualities. Just buy a few small lights and see what kind of effects they give. As for big lights, I just use a regular lamp and different colored bulbs sometimes. I also have floodlights and a snake light from Black and decker.

Like Frank said, anything and everything; fluorescent, incandescent, LED, I have even used candles. It all depends on the look that you want for the shot. And, of course, there's always the sun.....

My primary lighting is a good old halogen lamp. The key is where to place it to make things look right. And then like Frank said, x-mas lights and the cool Michael's spotlights.

Yup, anything goes.......
You have to be creative. Use whatever you can find, and don't be afraid to play around with it.....
Let us know how you make out!
