Help a computer illiterate geek out

OK, I'm trying to get my dio-story going on a website. Yola to be exact. I've gotten as far as posting a picture on the home page, and that doesn't actually seem to be permanately implanted there, and coz nothing is blatenly obvious and the "help" thing is in a bunch of computer speak, I'm having a real hard time getting this bloody thing fired up.
If someone can help me out with basically a step by step instruction that'd be groovy. If there's another site on which I can post that might be easier to use, that'd be just as groovy.
Thank you so much

Some people, when trying to avoid thinking about those things that cause them pain, turn to drink, or perhaps food, or drugs... I turn not to any of those... I collect action figures, turning my mind to the hunt, so that I might find a mote of peace... Over the years, I've found that alcoholism is much more socially acceptable by far.

I know nothing of this Yola, but you spoke to me in my own language, so I felt compelled to go and have a look at their tutorials.

The most obvious first thing to ask now, is: did you push the Save button after putting that picture on your home page ?

Otto Batman is right! did you save! The site builder is one of the easiest to use! Just sign up and choose a template and color for what your web-page will look like. Then just paste or upload your photos in the place of the texts or were it says place picture here! If it asks you for an img code or a html get a photo-bucket account. then when you upload pictures to your photobucket and are viewing them you can put your mouse icon over the bottom of the picture and the codes will be there! I dont use yola this is just a general way to set up a site using a site builder so I might be a little off! just trying to help a friend! ive used tripod but the limit is small for pictures! yola might be better! ive just realized flickr is better than other sites for me! dreadnok dread

Otto, if you're still having trouble, give Flickr a try. It's very simple to use (even a dummy like me has no trouble), and you can organize your shots into sets and collections which makes it very easy to set your story up in chapters or whatever you like. There's also a good selection of GI Joe groups there too, including quite a few of us former Joedios regulars.

Get ova hea( my Boston accent...East Boston!)
Otto, Flickr is the valley of wizards, hall of unicorns, chapel of Tootsie Rolls...what I'm getting at is that it is awesome and the linear quality of the sets makes for perfect diostories. DD and Craig have amazing stories there! So...get ova hea!
