Welcome to The Comic Box. This is a discussion thread for the GI Joe comics. We start at Marvel’s #1 and move thru the series every week. It’s a chance to give your thoughts, opinions and remarks about the comic in question.

50 was awsome it was realistic to see that the good guys don't always win as for special missions i never got into that series when i was younger but now i've heard so many good things about it that i'm gonna try to find the back issues

I couldn't agree more...issue 50 was good, but Special Missions No. 1 was awesome! It was actually the first Joe comic I ever read, and it got me hooked straight away. I still think it is just about the best stand-alone story in the whole run. I always chuckle when I recall the panel where the Baroness and Firefly are attacking the ship, and the Baroness yells "For Cobraaaaaa!" and Firefly replies with something like "For personal glory and the promise of riches!" Priceless!

Thumbs up

GI Joe #50, excellent issue, the battle for Springfield was awesome, and of course Serpentor utilizes all of his "abilities" to foil the Joes. One of the times I didn't mind seeing the Joes lose, it was very well done in this issue, and of course the introduction of Zarana.

Special Missions #1, Awesome, awesome, awesome. The "Navy" Joes, and Oktober Guard, who were always enjoyable to see. I loved the "Hunt for Red October" style storyline, and the one liner from Firefly, was awesome.
