I got into collecting in 1982, bought the first GI Joe comic and traded Star Wars for GIJoe! I kept up with the complete collection until 1989. I was always interested in the Military, and in 1987, joined the US Army and became a Combat Engineer (Larry Hama!?!). I blew stuff up for 3 years and got out in 1990. I was recalled for Desert Storm in 1991, but never got deployed. Just went to Fort Leonardwood, trained and by then the war was over! Went to College when I got back, met my wife, graduated college, had a kid, (was more into Martial Arts in college than Joes) got out of college and tried to get back in the Army. When that didn't happen, I joined the USMC and have been in since 1995. I'm doing tactical data networking (former Army, now a computer Marine.....old....MAINFRAME, is that you??). In 2002, I met a guy at my last unit who collected GI Joes and I saw they had new figures out, so I got back into it. My collection went from 550 in 2002 to over 1,800. (i need a second Garage!) I'm in the seniors bracket, too I'm 38.....anyone older?? And if you think it's hard to do Dio stories in public, imagine doing it on a MArine Corps Base! Not Fun! LOL!
I don't offend easily and I have a bizarre sense of humor. I can take it, but I prefer to dish it out! LOL! Ask Outrider, I'll never quit ragging him for torching that bat! LOL!
The biggest problem with being Military is knowing too much about how the military works and getting too technical and not just enjoying the stories! (You should hear me yell when I watch Black Hawk Down!!)
Anybody got any questions about the Marine Corps, let me know!
Glad to be Aboard! Semper Fi!

I can help with the second garage!

Since it seems like I've been posting pics on here for a little while I figured its about time to assemble my profile. I got into joes in 82' pretty heavily and of coarse through the years became disengaged, now that I've got 2 awesome sons I've been back on the toy kick. I only saved a handfull of my original joes but over the last year I've been amassing a new collection. I love posting pics over here and find it to be a good creative outlet in which I can stick close to home and the family. I also get a lot of inspiration from the other members here and enjoy the feedback from everyone. Anyhowz I'm gonna be 37 soon (OMG), live in the San Francisco bay area, love skateboarding although I feel my age catching up, beer drinking and bbqing (low and slow with wood not propane),Rockin out with my buddies, and of coarse hanging out with lovely my wife and kids. Livin the American dream (who woulda thought).

Sergeant Dude, that's Dean Markley your playing? You should check me out on youtube (find me as Sonneilon6). My playing isn't spot on but c'mon, a few beers and watching tv, what you expect when I play? I'm a fan of Explorer-like bodies. Prolly a James Hetfield thang.

Thought I'd go ahead and introduce Myself. Well my name is Trel, I live in Myrtle Beach SC ( I need to get Water Vehicles the Landscape is perfect here). Like everyone else here I have been into Joes/Cobra my whole life, but I stopped collecting in 95. I would pick up a VvV from a Dollar General every now and thow. The desire to collect again was reawaken by my boy LowJacked. I didnt know of any other guys/gals of my age that is into this kind of hobby. Thanks to him and the Joes alot of Childhood memories are coming back.

G. said I didn't look like most of the G.I Joe colectors, because my age and look, but for sure you are far than I froma typical collector looking . And I'm not talking about skin color, it really doesn't matter to me. I'm talking about the crazy hair man. That must make you put some effort to keep it that way.
Maybe I'm not the only wierd looking as G said, LOL.
Let me see if I wunderstood you Sic. LowJacked is your kid?
