My post wasn't directed at anybody in particular. I personally don't have anything against Jay, but reading him here and on Joe Customs, I can see where he can rub people the wrong way.
I do think this topic got a bit out of hand though and I agree with the one poster above that basically as soon as Fireflyed's situation was taken care of, the topic should have been closed.
I think we should all move on to the next topic of discussion: The Theory of Quantum Physics and their Effects on the Sexual Habits of Snails in a Hail Storm.

Some people, when trying to avoid thinking about those things that cause them pain, turn to drink, or perhaps food, or drugs... I turn not to any of those... I collect action figures, turning my mind to the hunt, so that I might find a mote of peace... Over the years, I've found that alcoholism is much more socially acceptable by far.

i don't know Otter...that topic is a bit risque. in these here parts, snail talk is taboo. we should have a less controversial topic...like god! or what your favorite contact lens solution is.

I dont count people who are annoyed with a comment or two as Jay haters! Jay might be blunt but he is one of the guys you can talk to to get a point across. He certainly does not deserve hate or getting ganged up on.

The thing is, it's not one or two comments. It's that 80% of his comments are incessant nitpicking or are designed too tear down the photo, it's not "I would do this to improve your photo" it's "Meh your custom isn't any good since you didn't paint the gloves" or "The Storm Shadow you used is terrible his eyes are blue, asians don't have blue eyes"
It's being overly critical. Also there are a few instances I've seen where someone has been critical of his photos (in a way similar to how he is) and all of a sudden, it's being mean and the person making the comment isn't entitled too. Let me know if you want proof.
While I agree Jay shouldn't have been ganged up on (Though it really didn't look that way to me) I do not think anything said in this thread was out of line. My first post in this thread was interpreted as being harsh which wasn't necessarily what I intended, I wrote it with quite a sardonic tone, but this isn't a verbal form of communication so it was almost universally missed.
Trench Viper, I think your a great poster and that you take very good photos, so I'm not happy we're on opposite sides.
Also to Otto The Otter, while "Don't say anything if you can't say anything nice" is a very nice mantra to live by, the problem with that by doing that, when someone doesn't play by those rules (In this case Jay) those who bite their tongue, allow it to continue.

Perfectly stated Ian. That's why I blocked Jay on Flickr. His very first comment on one of my pics was along the lines of "Your custom is the height of silliness" without offering any suggestions for improvement. Constructive criticism I can abide, but people pissing on my pics can go and annoy someone else.
And I don't believe there was any "ganging up" on Jay either. It was just a selection of the many people he has upset over the years coming back and biting him on the arse. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
