I don't know how the law is down under, but from personal experience, I recommend that you have a plan. You need a will and a living will. You need to make sure that your wishes are carried out exactly the way you want. When my father in law died, his will was 10 years old and did not reflect what he wanted when he passed. It caused a tremendous amount of stress and conflict amongst the people that loved him. He left a mixed legacy and it shadows the way his family interact to this day. I know you're a practical guy and would not want your family to guess what you wanted or be troubled by things that you can take care of now. I am not trying to morbid, but take it from me, you do not want your loved ones to go through more than they have to. It may also help you to know that they are taken care of in the way you wanted. Thanks Josh, and thanks everyone. I have made certain preparations in case the worst should occur, including writing a will. Thanks to a life of hard work my wife and I are debt-free and financially secure, so at least there's no money worries for my wife should the worst happen. It's all in God's hands now.
