I think a lot of people were bummed that it's not a live-action movie from said anime. What I see is a movie that will be competing with Sam Jackson's District 9. In the end, I rather like those funky mechy toys-y!

Avatar isn't an anime, it's an American cartoon.

And they ARE making a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie.
