Believe it or not, but people have been wanting smaller teams for awhile. THere WAS a backlash against the 100+ GI Joe team. It catered MORE to the original13 days tho new characters did get intro'd pretty quickly.

If you have good storytelling and good characterization, then a small team should work, right? But I suppose if the writers mess around with characters too much, then people won't like 'em and that will make the toyline suffer.

Tunnel Rat comes to mind. As an ARAH toy, he was awesome. In the movie, he was so-so. The Marvel comic, he didn't get much love. The DD comic version? Did he even show up??? The 2002+ v1 was ok. The v2 SUCKED (that'd be the VvV version). The S6 toy was ok. The S6 Cartoon Portrayal was pretty goofy. The S6 Comic protrayal was about the same as the cartoon.

At least Heavy Duty was portrayed as the dork he is and Duke was portrayed as the... well, whatever he is.

Haha.. I think if you look at their recent so called efforts on 25th Anniversary falcon you'll see exactly why Hasbro ''WON'T SUCK IT UP AND DO WHAT IS NEEDED"

THAT COSTS MONEY!!! and.. IT'S A RISK!! Ohh Noooo they wont do that will they!! Not when people are clammering to TRU's and Targets scrambling for every little cruddy scrap of Repaints they can get..

Here is how Hasbro should do things, they should seriously look at the GIJOE movie and make a decision, either continue with the 25th sculpt and deem it as a success or do what they did in 1982/83 and change some of the problems of the 25th figures and ride the movie hype with the new figure line until the wheels fall off
on the back of this, they should release a cartoon & new comic, preferably both.

What in reality they will probably do.. is to release the new movie figures with repainted parts in 25th format announced as NEW GI JOE MOVIE FIGURES they'll be no cartoon and no new comic launch..

The answer then.. why wont hasbro suck it up? Because that would hit them hard in their fatcat wallets.. I honestly am now beginning to wonder whether hasbro ever did have any ''meaning'' and ''loyal intent'' towards the fans of this line.

Exactly why I quit actively collecting the 25th. What version of Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke and Cobra Commander are we on? But it was almost as bad with the Nu Sculpt stuff!

Exactly! Like the old days, flood Saturday Morning Cartoons with GI Joe Commercials all day!

I think that it is because that isn't the kind of things most kids would watch, plus the porportions on the figs were horrible, and it was too cheesey. It would only be fun to watch for most kids at about 5 years old and $10 per figure is alot for a 5 year old. Plus that little kid's parents probobly aren't going to spend $100+dollars for there kid on action figures. Then the kids would loose interest with there one or twoo s6 figs.

And how are those "Narnia" and "Iron Man" figures doing? Still keeping the pegs warm?

I like the Iron Man toys...

And am very happy to see Hasbro still using o-ring Joe moulds for a very appropriate purpose that gives dio-makers like us perfect non-specific-character figures/extras and custom fodder whether it's for alternate outfits or all-new guys.

I got a Hulkbuster Squad set yesterday and I'm very happy because for all intents and purposes they ARE GI Joes of the style I collect!
