In the comics they used to depict it in a sort of "greyish blue" althoug sometimes it looked more of a dark dull blue, or a violet-gray blue.

It's a really difficult one to find out But anyway, blue must be the base.

If you look at the second page in Acantilado's post, you'll see that Firefly appears to be blue and purple, but we know he is light and dark grey. The Cobra chopper on that page is pretty well the same colours as Firefly.

Thanks for the feedback guys. After considering it, I'm thinking Primer grey with light grey and flat black tiger stripes...Oh, and the Sharks mouth!!

HoleSnipe; Did you have problems with the paint adhereing to the chopper? Especailly around the cockpit in the white areas?

Yes Outrider, the second one is probably the worst example of the chopper's colours :P

Ender, are you painting it on a Tiger Force pattern?

The paint did fine on the main chopper, but you need to lay down a primer coat or sand it first, on the troop carrier underneath, the plastic is softer and the paint just wants to chip off. That's why it's not pictured yet, I had to redue it. I just sanded it all down and have applied another black coat. It seems to be sticking now.
