I know what you mean Frank. All our cars up until what we drive now were rust bucket junkers. When my wife and I finished paying our mortgage, the first thing we decided to do was to buy a decent car each.

My first car was a 95 dodge neon, gross, but when I when I started college I built my baby, 99 mitsubishi eclipse.

It was a lot of time and money, 3 engines and 3 paint jobs later (yes I blew up 2, and it used to be black). I don't really like to drive it that much, just on the weekends or a nice day, or when I really want to go fast.

Daily I drive a 2006 nissian altima SE-R, Not too flashy but plenty of power and cold AC, I took the air out of my eclipse for racing reasons and was damn sick of the heat. So I've had my altima about a year and I love it, but now I've started tinkering with it, hopefully I won't go over board like last time

note this pic is not my car, mine is dark blue, but its sleeting outside and I'm not about to take my car out of the garage, I've got the same rims and grill as this car and mine always looks black in pictures anyway, so close enough!

I LOVE those Eclipses, particularly those from around 1999. I don't care for the new one and the Eagle Talon year versions aren't so hott for me either. Man, I love the color too. Very nice. Darn that Fast & Furious movie!!!

Ok, I started with a 1974 VW Dasher. Hand-me down from parents, yah. 1st car when I turned 17. (I broke my arm when I was 16 and didn't get a car till I was almost 17.) It was yellow. Probably more lemon yellow than banana yellow like Firefly'd. Back then, it was embarassing to drive but the back seats folded down and it WAS a stationwagon. Uhmmmmm, we finally got rid of it in 1994 or so. It was 20 yrs old. Mother has a lot of memories wrapped up in that car and that thing had gone many places.

I didn't own, but I tended to use a Chevy S10. POS? Yes, but it's an OLD S10 and nothing like what's out there now. Parents still have it and use it for hauling. I drove that on college breaks, a couple years after college and then...

In 1998, I bought a GTI. My 1st car. After buying it, I started to learn more about cars and well... Better than the S10 but certainly not as nice as an Eclipse from the same year. *cough cough*

In 2004 (or so), Emi bought a 1999 Subaru Outback Legacy. I've always wanted one simply cuz it'd be good for hauling a family around. Certainly more stylish than a minivan. :P Unfortunately, a crap transmission and 25mpg kills it for me. This coming from vehicles that were running about 30 mpg.

Sold the GTI in 2005. Emi also had a Isuzu pickup. 1992. We used whichever vehicle was available. If I had the kids, I rolled in the Subaru. If I didn't, I had the truck.

When we separated then divorced, Emi GAVE me the truck. We continued the trading of vehicles up until about a month ago. My father sold his 57 Chevy and put a down payment on a BMW 328i. When he finally received the 328i (they had to build it), I was given the 2002 Chevy Impala TO USE. I sold the truck less than a month ago and now roll in a 2002 Chevy Impala while mother drives a VW Cabrio and father has his 328i.
