You know...I am a bit worried about the way Hasbro is taking the Clone Trooper thing as it is, making all the variant color schemes and all, getting you to buy the same fig, over and over, with different paint. As it is, it is a perfect marketing scheme. Doing this with the clone troopers is one thing, but starting it with Storm Troopers and in this example, Tie Fighter Pilots??? Oh man....

Well I agree with you on the Clone Trooper and buying the same figure over and over. I'm guilty of buying Clone Troopers, but I don't think I'll be doing that with the Tie Fighter...not at the $35 a shot. Right now I don't have any Tie pilots, so this could be a start. Maybe have this as a squad leader.

I was speaking of the pilot. Look how different he is for this particular Tie Intercepter. They already are creating variant Sand Troopers, with slight variations to their paldron and gear. Think about it, if they started making Storm Troopers with different markings and such, getting collectors to buy the same fig with different color schemes would bleed over to the Storm Troopers too.

I see the difference with the Pilot. I figured one of those and a few OTC Tie Pilots. I know about the Clone Troopers....because I've been buying the different ones. I only know of two Sand Trooper types one with the black paldron and one with the white. Is there something I'm missing ?
I'm not being a smart a$$. I got back into collecting Star Wars while working on my lastest dio story.

If i was single and had money! i had started collecting the relaunch of Star Wars back in the 90's and when i stopped after Episode 1 i think i had at least a 100 or so figures and collector sets vehicles. but now i have to pay bills and the such, it is also the reason i am now looking on hasbro at the dramatic price cuts on G.I. Joe figures and salivating but still can't buy any!!!!!!
oh well it is good to windo shop! but as far as collecting star wars i think for now i will stick to the small titanium series!

They have black paldron, white paldron, orange paldron, dirty trooper, real dirty trooper, trooper with the amo pack hanging from shoulder, trooper without amo pack, trooper with pike...thats all I can think of. Makes for nice variety if you want to army build, but still, its the same figure over and over. Oh well, at least we will not run out of stuff to collect
