yorktownjoe. Yeah, I'm original. Do you need our passwords too? Just kidding!
Thanks Frank for this thread. I rarely go to eBay anymore because of the sniping near the end of auctions. They provide a valuable forum, but the fee structure between them and PayPal really makes it cost prohibitive to sell anything at a decent, fair price. For instance a vehicle that retailed for $9.99 should not be marked up to $29.99 plus $16.95 S/H just so someone can make it worthwhile.
I already built my own policy of NOT knowingly bidding against friends if I can figure out they are forum members here. I have seen ender098 and others a few times, and wished you well in your acutions wihtout bidding. I would never want to accidentally elevate bids.
I used to sell 12" (1:6) Joes, Dragon, Ultimate Soldier on eBay and on my own website, but it was too difficult to break even with the fee structure. It was a hobby job, but I didn't want to lose money, be tied to my mouse, and constantly mailing at the post office Monday thru Saturday. Then I was notified when the Terms of service changed, I could no longer link to my own website for additional sales. That was the beginning of the end. (This was back in the late 90's.)
eBay still serves a purpose, but I'd rather swap items with people here and avoid making someone with stock options even wealthier than they already are...
