If you are able to find online the movie Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad), online and the subtitles I would say to you watch it. It tells the story of the BOPE (Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais), something like Batallion of Special Police Operations. They're the Rio de Janeiro special police force, in some ways better than SWAT. The movie shows the war between corrupt police, drug dealears and BOPE.
