Did General Hawk also inspire you to post the same thing on multiple boards

Well even if there was a such thing as hell, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be segregated by Country. Even then us Canadian's would probably wind up in Commonwealth hell!
Also we don't say "eh" every third word it's generally every 9th or 10th

Well, I figured since Dios and Customs are both huge parts of my collecting, I figured what the hell, I'll post it both places.
As far as the "eh" thing, sometomes I like to go Uber-American Stereotypist. If he was an Aussie, I'd have said "I repent, mate!" I know you don't say "eh" all the time, but it's hard to write your beedy eyes and flapping heads into text sometimes.

Make that three of us. I still have 80% of my stuff. Someone stole a box that had my Night Raven, Tomahawk, Air Defense, Flak, and Dragonfly and a few figures I still can't find.
Picked up 82 R & R and a Flak. Then 82 SE, Scarlett, then got the 83 superior Flash, Steeler and Mobat, and went on from there. I'm 38 and proud to say I'm still collecting and occassionally playing with them. Check your Craigslist in your area as well.... I found FREE Joe stuff on there http://www.joecustoms.com/forums/vi...hp?f=10&t=16831

Though I read others, this is the only Joe site I actually post at, so I'm always glad to see something cross-posted here because it means I can answer!

Great story..thanks for sharing!
My brother and I collected since 1982. I saved 4+ months to pay $7.97 for VAMP w/ straight-arm Clutch. Thanks mom for covering sales tax! Mom picked up Zap for my brother and we had our first team. I really wanted a Flash and saved for him, but Target didn't have him and a picked up Short-Fuse instead... My brother andIi looked at the little catalog and every new wave we'd get a little catalog and try to decide who would get what so we could keep our joint collection rolling along.
Then we started picking up stuff on our own. Then we got old and went to college.
Lucky for us Mom is a worse pack rat than we are and none of our stuff was lost.
I picked up again on eBay around 1999 or 2000 and was interested again. Since then i have been interested more and more through various stages, G.I. Joe has been a good hobby through thick and thin.
This past Christmas my brother busted out his WHALE and Hydrofoil and let my sons have a sea battle on our mom's laundry room floor. There was no water involved, but my sons had a blast and my brother and I just looked at each other and smiled. it was like wathcing ourselves at the same time... So cool!

It was 1978, and I got the adventure team rescue copter for Christmas, that thing got played with literally to pieces. Then there was a pause, and for Christmas 1982, I got a RAM, Snake Eyes, and Breaker, as well as a reusable peel and stick playset, then a VAMP w/Clutch. A HISS tank followed along with a Cobra trooper, and officer. In 1984, I got a MANTA, and Zartan w/Chameleon. I acquired Duke, Grunt, and Rock n'Roll at a yard sale in 1985, and got Airtight for Christmas. The cartoon had sucked me in a that time, I didn't even know about the comic (my local bookstore never carried it). My last three acquisitions in my collection were a Skystriker and Ace (given to me by my dad's half brother, he was a Star Wars guy with no interest in GI Joe), Rock n'Roll again in 1989, and finally in 1991 Lt. Falcon, I was 18 and that was it for collecting. I joined the military, and while I was away my parents gave away my small, yet sentimental collection, as far as I know my cousin still has it, and the little bugger won't give it up, I tried.
Flash forward to 2000, I got posted to Greenwood Nova Scotia, and during that first year started a Star Trek fanclub, and one of the first to join was this kid Shane Welin, now Shane hadn't even come close to growing up (still hasn't ), and had mentioned that he had picked up a few GI Joes, now this got me interested again and I picked up most of the 2000 releases in figures. A Locust followed, and an original 82 Breaker off E-Bay. Later on, Shane discovered Joe Dios, and thanks to his friends here, his collection continued to grow, and then he showed me the site, and I picked up a few more things. Around 2007, a good buddy of mine, Shannon, noticed my paltry collection, and that got him interested again, but he took it to the next level, over two years his collection went from zero, to pretty close to almost one of everything, much to his wife and pocketbooks chagrin, but he also became a seller, and that's when my collection started to grow, now I don't have a huge collection, but I like what I have, there are still many things I still want (Cobra Troopers, Crimson Guards, FLAGG, etc.), but I keep adding to it, and eventually I'll even have a decent place to display it.
