My guitar playing has been really sloppy the last few times. I'm having problems getting up to speed on Metallica's "One". Then again, my own tunes are feeling slow so...

Dang man, I ne'er played that long. But I started on piano and played that for 8 years. Moved to bass. Bought a classical a year later. Went thru a lot of electrics before settling on one. I did have one decent Ibanez but I couldn't get the sound right.

yeah i try to atleast play for 5 hours to keep the tips of my figures hard and rough soo that it won't hurt when i play guitar....

i never did learn how to play piano seemed to complicated to me. having to move your feet as well as your hands, i'd just rather play guitar and use just my hands lol

have played a little bass but not enough for nothing..

let me ask you somthing is it hard to change strings on a floyd rose ?

My problem is that last step. the action is so low that the allen wrenches tend to scrape against the body. That's not good. Hopefully yours will be higher. WHEN you put your own strings on, you'll do the non-ball end into the slots and tighten the flloyd rose. The ballend will be where the tuning keys are. Guitar shops are notorious for making their stringing look complicated.

Don't let the guys at the shop do it for you. They'll do it in a way that won't make sense. If I am correct, they probably cut the balls off the strings on the neck side and tucked the string in. THAT'S a complicated way to do it. I just thread thru the tuning pegs, leaving the balls. gah, it's easier if you do it than having it written down.

Supposedly, you're supposed to change the strings every 3 months. 6 at most.

Professionals change strings every show.
