Default Found Something Interesting Today

So I wandered into my neighborhood Target and noticed one single Cobra Legions pack sitting on the shelf. I plucked it up and opened it to find that someone had stolen the Storm Shadow! However, Stormy is the figure I wanted least from this set, since I don't really think the VvV color scheme lends itself well to that mold... So I took it to the checkout counter, wondering the whole time why someone would steal the Storm Shadow of all things, and leave the troop builders. The checkout person was kind enough to give me 20% off the set, so it essentially cost me what it should have anyway, since it was short one figure.

I checked TRU and two Wal-Marts, found nothing else, and came home. I opened the set to find-- The stands aren't there-- and worse, neither is the helmet for turning the Air Trooper into a Cobra Officer! So now I wonder-- Did the thief take Storm Shadow simply as a decoy to cover up the fact that he was actually grabbing the stands and helmet? I'm not sure why he'd want just those items, but I really just can't fathom anyone going to any effort to steal that particular Storm Shadow!

Anyway, that's my story. I'll probably wind up getting a second pack if I ever run across one, because I'd like to have a comic-style Cobra Officer. I still feel like I got a pretty good deal, though, since I paid $20.00 for these guys.

EDIT: I also just realized it didn't come with filecards either! Not that I really care about those since I can read them on the internet.

Self, I really think that stealing is the deepest a person can hit. Ok, you don't care much for the things you didn't get, however I here thinking about a kid that would have buyed this set.

Why he did that, I would say it is poor meaning.

You should also be missing the Air Trooper's Dragunov rifle. It was bagged with the helmet and three figure stands.

You're right, I don't have that either. I thought I might be missing one, but then I wasn't sure if it even came with one for him.

Sorry to heard that Self-Modifier!!! but I do know your pain when I was a kid there was several times when I bought Joe figure & someone stole the equipment from them, I wanted the Figure so badly I would end up buying it anyway & it always seemed to be good that I did because I would never see that figure again for sale in any of the stores!!!

Thumbs up Stealing..

Stealing from stores.. the worst is the person is a collector/fan like us.. the fact those people exist in this collecting community. I guess it's the old "Accept the bad with the good" thing.
It's a shame your missing those pieces to your set, I'd think stores now have alot of CCTV and stealing from bigstores like that isn't possible anymore.
I remember back in the 80s I bought Action Force International Heroes Falcon. We were heading out of the TRU and I told my mum that his backpack and knife wasn't in the bubble and it had been opened. So we went to customer services and they got me a replacement figure. All brand new to open myself.
The weirdest thing is the figure had a deformation in the plastic of the left arm, there was a brown/black scar mark. The weirdest thing is I never bothered about this as it actually looked cool as a battle wound for my cool new green beret, at the time falcon would use this as his introductory story when meeting up with his new team mates

doesn't make any sense....but a few years ago at Wal-mart...someone bought a two pack with the G. I. Joe vs, Cobra 2 pack Viper vs, I can't remember, and brought it back to Wal-Mart.

You could tell where they removed the clam shell to remove the figure they wanted and replaced it with........a Firefly V1!!!! They re-sealed it and brought it back. I picked it up because I lost my Firefly V1 some 20 years ago. I had his accessories but not the figure.....I still have it in the package, I will have to dig up the package an take a pic. The only thing wrong from what I could see was minor paint wear, I could always replace the O-ring, but I don't plan on opening him up anytime soon.
