Having problems posting photos? Post the details here!
I need to collect as much info as I can on what's happening to some people, myself included, getting errors or blank screens when trying to post images.
Here's what I need:
Size of original picture
Browser
result (server error 500 or blank screen, etc)
The site has an image resizing program, so size shouldn't matter, so I have a suspicion that's the issue, but I'm not a developer.
Once we've collected enough info, I'll ask our host to read this thread and see if he can discover what's going wrong.
Thanks all!
Hammerfel

The shot I can't seem to post is
571 KB jpg
its dimensions
4973 x 3659
(fairly small for me)
when I submit it goes to the diagnose connection problems (internet explorer) screen. I get the 505 error message.
thats about all the info I can think of.

I know 'pre-crash', that pictures over 2.0 were flagged as 'too big'. Since the crash, I have to crop my pictures down to 1.3 in order to have them post. Then when they come up, they are HUGE in my own screen..
Next time I post, I'll pay attention better and post my results-but usually, if its too big-the screen is just the blank light blue and the bottom of the window displays 'Done'......I don't know if that helps, but that's my .03
*EDIT*
I just tried posting a pic........I had to keep re-sizing until I got to 1.0 before it would take the upload!!

My most recent failed post was 4000 by 1687 and only 659 kb. Generally, anything over 800 by 600 and/or over 1mb get me a blank white screen and "done" in the bottom left corner. Also, I can no longer click on my pics to see the "blown up" version, but some pics from others will do that for me.
If I take the picture using the large setting on the camera, it wont post unless I resize on photobucket. If I take the picture using the small setting, it will generally post fine, but the image quality suffers. (I am assuming that "L" and "S" mean large and small. I know basically nothing about "real" photography.)
I am using Internet Explorer 8

Don't know if it helps...
The last picture I just successfully posted was 800x600 pixels, 250 KB big, and I'm using Microsoft Internet Explorer

It looks like our Server Admin, Sean, fixed it! I uploaded a test image at it's native resolution (I didn't have to resize it at all) and it worked! Have a look!
http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/sho...php?i=28740&c=7
The problem was the image resizing program on the server side wasn't working properly, so he switched to a different program that is working fine.
Thank you Sean!
