Default Question About convention exclusives!

Hopefully no one gets pissed of for me asking here! I am now finally going to start buying convention exclusives! I am part of the gi joe collectors club and they have exclusives for sale with the box and without. My question is what is in the box that makes it cost 210.00 for instance instead of just the figures price for 110.00? Before I purchase one or the other I was just wondering if I am getting some card art or cool extras in the box or if its just another box Im going to put in storage! thanks guys!

yeah, basically, the difference is.....the box. You can call it art, Card art....you're paying alomst $100 for a....you guessed it....Box! Oh, and it comes with Certificates of Authenticity that are numbered! But if you want figures just to mess with (to play with)...the bagged sets come with all weapons, stands and cards.....

Just being facetious

Brian Savage has claimed the art on the box is the reason for the increased cost. Also you generally have to get a boxed set in order to get a bagged set (I would check the listings in the MC website. last time I was there it said that but that was years ago).

I have had better luck (and saved money) grabbing them on second hand market after the cons are over and the heat has died down a bit, but you have to be patiant for that as scalpers are abundant and try too railroad you with high prices. Still I think I have gotten the figs I wanted and saved several hundred dollars doing that.

Ya know the worst part of all of this is that the box art isn't even good.

It either looks like a bad Fantasy novel (05, 06, 07) or a terrible comic book (02, 03, 04) or a combination! (08, 09)
