It was great meeting you today, Ender!
And thanks for all the goodies! So much of just the stuff I needed!

It's most likely never going to happen, but it would be awesome to meet all of the friends I've made via this site. To see these supremely talented people in the flesh, and to sit and just "talk Joe" would be a great experience.

I've been to Australia twice (my wife is Australian). We don't have another trip planned anytime soon, but tell, where do you live, Outrider?
It IS a cool experience, meeting other adult Joe Collectors. Feels like somebody who "gets" you.

I'm a Melbourne boy, born and bred. Melbourne is the Capital city of Victoria, the southern-most state on the mainland. Like you Hammer, I've been lucky enough to travel too, including two trips to the USA. My wife and I had planned to visit there again, but with my health as it is now that obviously is a long way off.

My wife is from Melbourne and Sydney. I visited Melbourne with her and my son about 5 years ago, when Jack was 2. There was a transportation strike and we had to hitch-hike around town. By coincidence, we saw a great band live at the big casino downtown one night, and the next day got picked up by the lead singer while we were hitch hiking! Small world!
I often think I'll retire to Melbourne, I liked the vibe of the city so much. It's safe, too. When I was there, the big story on the news was of a robbery of a convenience store by 2 guys with knives. The surveillance camera captured footage of the clerk chasing them out with a baseball bat! Here in the States, I've been car-jacked at gunpoint by a convicted (and released) murderer in North Carolina and had a fistfight on the NYC subway!

Safe - to a point. It's gotten a lot worse over the last few years, unfortunately, but is still not as bad as many big cities. The worst thing that happened to me here was being assaulted at a rock concert in my younger days. I was blind-sided by a drunk who was just looking for someone to hit. I also had the radio stolen from my car once as well - not dangerous but still aggravating. Still not as bad as being car jacked though!
PS - Next time you're in Melbourne, drop in, and we'll spend the day talking about Joes!

It was good to meet you too. You're welcome. I have some more goodies for you if you want them. If you can't get up this weekend let me know and Kris and I can run them to you Saturday!
It would be great if we could have a Joe Dios Convention...Like the GI Joe Collectors club has every year. Get together, swap stories, down a pint, etc!

That would rock!
We do have a great group of Joe Collectors down here called the SoCalNoks. I'm the only one who shoots Dios AFAIK, but they're fun to hang out with anyway!
My son has his 2nd Little League game on Saturday, but i could probably come visit Sunday.
