I love this site
I love this site...
And so I've decided to make sure that the main page of all of my Dio's carry the banner and link of Joedios.com. I remember when the site was first started and this was Hammerfels intention and then it died for a time but it's become obvious to me that this site is alive and kicking and I'd be proud to have this banner flying on my Dio pages.
I'd also like to commit to posting any sneak previews and WIP pics to this site, assuming the Mods are cool with that.

I've been rocking the banner ever since I joined just to get people interested.
Uh, VFix, what are you talking about exactly? We've got the lovely HOW-TO section which covers everything from how you painted something to building sets to photography101. SHoot, there's even a little bit of photoshopping material in there too. As for doing WIPs and sneak previews, bring it on.

I like this site so much that I've been 'minding the shop' for a while now.......all without the accolades and 'atta girls' .......

Whatever it takes. I get questions about technique and application on a regular basis and I'm more than willing to share my experience with everyone. Do you feel that my opinions wouldn't be a welcome part of the site?
no, no no. I'd welcome them. In it's early days, I tried very hard to make this site friendly to everyone. We've got the Target Range, the Comic Box, Weekend Warriors (it was once known as... uh, Theme Week)... we are pushing Reviews and HOW-TO. ANd I've been working the FILES section as of late. Everyone here can learn stuff from others. I'm still learning. I still don't know what half the crap on my camera is!
ViolentFix, you are like, one of the Jedi Masters with Luke, Fred and Justin. From where I come from, your word is God-like. We've all seen your making-ofs; from dock to sewer to construction site... It is inspiring. I was just letting you know that we have forums/sections for all sorts of things. So feel free to throw down in the HOW-TO if you've got a set in the works. Or you want to give us insight on how to take certain types of shots. (If only I could get GS to do that. That's right, that's a jab at you!!!)
I'm a Luke Ellison prodigy. I fully admit it. What Luke does, I try to copy (albeit, he is better). So when you 'old' folks stop by, I feel honored. Honored that you remember this place. Honored that you will post here. I feel the same way when Luke, Fred and Justin stop by. I love it.
I want YOUR opinions. I want your criticism. We often learn thru it (as long as it's constructive; we've had UNconstructive gripings...). The more the better. Please, feel at home here.

Don't worry about it. I took your comment wrong and though you were trying to say there was nothing more I could add. I finally remembered what the gist was of what I wrote, here it is.
What it comes down to is that I'd like to see this site be what it's intended to be. THE place for Dio stories. Everyone here has done a great job to bring it to the level it's at. I not asking for anything, I'm just committing to being a part of this community. It only seems natural that I help people find this site through my work. Quite often I receive e-mail from readers that have no forum affiliation, why not give them a way to find this place. I have no issues funneling viewers to this site from my own. I don't except advertisements on my site and I don't fear that the reader isn't going to come back. The community here is great and the feedback and questions I receive from here are refreshing. I'd like to see it grow larger. There are so many talented people here as well and I've been enjoying their work now for a long time, why not open peoples eyes to what's out there.
When it comes to "Work In progress". No one really knows just how much goes into my Dio's. Quite often entire sections of a chapter will be filmed, edited and scripted and then tossed because I didn't like something about it or the direction it was going in. Sometimes these are totally new Dio's that never see the light of day outside of private communities that exist in the Joe online world. I see no reason why I can't start putting this material out here because I feel that the people here will appreciate it more.
As for my Operation Creations? There are more on the way but right now getting Brother's Keeper done is my number one priority. But that doesn't mean that the material for future Operation Creations isn't out there and what better a place for me to suss out my ideas for these updates than a place like this.
Currently I'm spread to thin to spend the amount of time I used to on all the different sites and so I'd like to have a place I could call home, what better a place for me than a site dedicated to Dios. There are times when I'm absent, two kids and two jobs can wear you thin but in the end I've always come back and the material has never stopped flowing.
Do the Mods have any suggestions on what I can do to help? I'm happy to hear anything anyone has to say.
