Default Photography supplies!?!

I was just wondering if there are any hardcorp photography enthusiasts out there who know a little about professional Photography? Some things I need to know are;

1. ) Terminology what do they call that backdrop they use in portrait photographs that looks like Gray marble? What do they call those HUGE flashes that have the "umbrella" looking white cloth collars around them? And any other terminology for studio photography equipment.

2.) Where could I get these items?

Frank, the backdrop is just that, a backdrop. You can find them in a variety of colors, styles, scenes and fabrics.

The 'umbrella' lights are called diffusers with a light hood or shade attached to them.

Any photography store will either carry these items in a variety of sizes and shapes or you'll be able to buy them. Of course you need to remember that the hobby of photography is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination (if your seriously looking into pursuing it).....I spent a couple of years in classes, but had to stop when the $$$ started to get really out of control.

But you should look to see if the local colleges or even high school have night classes for adults who are looking into photography as a 'fun thing'...........

And here's a couple of links for photographic terminologies:

Enjoy!!!
