Default Always Wanted to Try This...

I just got this APC and wanted to see what it looked like fully loaded. I used the Vipers simply because they are the only figures I've got that aren't standing in formation on a shelf.

I always wondered why the rear bumper pulled out and I assume it's to use like a carry handle. If the seat belts were in place, they'd hold the sitting figures in place and the canopy has small tabs that protrude down to hold the standing figures in place.

Yes, I am just now figuring this out, shut up.

I don't know of a single kid who would ever use their APC in this manner, and I would rather it had a trailer hook on the back then the pull out bumper.

The APC is really the only "truck" the Joe's have and could easily be the prime mover for the HAL, MMS, Whirlwind and Mountain Howitzer. I figure the real world equivelant to the APC, at least in function, would be the five ton or seven ton cargo troop carrier.

I'd hate to be the viper who lets some gas fly

Looks awesome by the way, would love to see it in some shots

The carrying case idea hurt the vehicle. The lack of tow hook was irritating.

I was watching Sunbow GI JOE's Season 2 and surprised to see the APC still appearing.

I love the APC, though the carry handle is a drawback. And I'm not sure how a canvas rain roof would be able to support a cannon turret... I would assume they would have a VAMP or two running interference. A Whirlwind (don't have one) would be nice hauled behind the APC, if it had a tow hook.

But it is so sturdy, it does not fall apart from even heavy use.

Thanks for highlighting this frequently overlooked vehicle...

I love the APC. Not sure why, really; it doesn't do much and could've benefitted from a minor remodelling like the European one. Other than the tow hook, which I agree it needs, you loose the cannon if you take the top off and the side "doors" don't open (so it can float, of course, but it would've been cool). I did use the carry handle, though. I'd load the RAM and a bunch of figures in the APC and carry it when I went to friends' houses. Easy way to keep up with everything.

You were depraved on the account you were deprived.

Don't have an APC, and the handle thing doesn't bother me so much because with enough Vamps, you have enough tow hooks for the 3 things I owe that need or require towing.

The problem is that the VAMP is the size of a full sized pick up truck, maybe even a midsized pick up. In reality a pick up might tow the Mountain Howitzer.

The military, at least back in the mid 90s, introduced a smaller howitzer and had to create a specially modified HMMWV to haul it.

The HAL and MMS? Forget it, the Whirlwind would be pushing it. In all honesty, a real HAL would probably require a heavy haul tractor trailer. Not thinking in terms of size, but weight. If a HAL is either a chemical LASER or an electric LASER, both are a bit on the wieghty side.

Yes, I know these vehicles are from a fantasy world, but I like having some element of reality in my Joe-verse.

The APC would have greatly benifited from a tow hook. Maybe I can sacrifice a hook from one of my Stingers...

I liked being able to carry 28 modern army action figures over to my friends back in the day, (all my friends had SGT. ROCK, I had JOES)! And that carry handle was a cool feature, The A.P.C. could go over land, sea, and was a carry case, For it's time very innovative, Why some may nit pick the carry case, it sure beat that little 9 figure carry case that Hasbro OFFICIALLY offered!

Actually VAMP is based on The 1977 LAMBORGHINI CHEETAH
