If they Made a G.I.JOE Video Game
Hey,
I think this might of been discussed elsewhere by others previously, but i thought i'd chip in and start my own convo on the subject.
I've loved the possibilities that videogame technology has given us over the last few years, we've made so many leaps and bounds since the 80s. At one point it was just stick on either side of the screen and now we have fully rotational environment maps to battle on.
Everyone has their own tastes too when it comes to how they'd like a GIJOE videogame to be made. For me having played Warhawk for nearly 6 months, I have to say this would be the best option for a base model on the game.
The benefits of having multi-modal battles online with your family or friends.. I know the Warhawk format has different sides, red vs blue, eucadian vs chernovan.. but lets face it, switch out the teams for GIJOE Vs Cobra and include mission packs and this would sell by the bucketload!
To give you guys a demo of what i am talkin about check out my video uploaded at Youtube.

Here is a multiplayer demonstration

The great thing about doing a GIJOE videogame this way is that if it was multiplayer focused like warhawk.. it would work so cool towards missions. You could complete missions really however you see fit, from the ground in jeeps or tanks or on foot, or from the air.
Anyone else wondering about a GIJOE videogame? I know the movie could spawn the release of the videogame at some point in the future.. but I think they'd go a different way with the genre.

The question isn't "If they make a GI Joe video game", its WHEN they make the video game. There was a Spongebob Video game released after his first movie. There was a WALL-E video game released after that movie. GI Joe is a cash cow for the corporate types because it has the "cool" factor for today's audience and the nostalgia factor for us old farts who remember it "back in the day". Expect a lot of cross marketing!!!!
I'm not a recent video gamer. The most recent I've played is Return to Wolfenstein and the Star Wars Dark Forces series. Both are respectable and very nice models for the newer 1st person games. From your description Warhawk sounds perfect for the multi-aspect missions that could happen for GI Joe. Sweet game demo BTW.
In the end we'll have to rely on the people in the cubicles to create the game.

What do you expect? It's a video game based on children's toys.
