Default Thoughts on the DDP "Reloaded" series

Well I recently aquired and read the G.I. Joe Reloaded series of comics. Mainly bc they were only a buck a piece at smalljoes.com. But I gotta say it was different, but I really enjoyed it. I know I am way behind the curve on this series, but I'm not a huge comic guy. And since I just joined our fun loving group in june. I was wondering what everyone on here thought about the Reloaded series. What did you like, not like? what did you think? What did you notice? I don't know much about the joe comic universe. so what did all you guys who are in the know think about it? My man issue was RockNRoll looked like way to young and Stormy seemed like a whiny biatch, but what did you think?

Not being a fan of Marvel's Ultimate concept, I didn't approach Reloaded with open arms, exactly... It was well-written, and the art was good too, but a few times it seemed to be different from the regular series just for the sake of being different. Either that or I just wondered why they didn't use a plot point/scene in the regular one.

I kinda liked the redesigns of some characters on a visual level, most notably Doc and Storm Shadow, but these could have been incorporated into the regular series. Really, the GI Joe brand wasn't really strong enough to support an alternate-reality title alongside the "real" Joes' story so I wasn't surprised when Reloaded went under. An interesting experiment but I can't say I really miss it.

I would have to agree, after reading the whole thing you could def tell it wasn't a series that was going to last, but for 14 bux, I think it was worth it for bathroom material I kinda like the whole traitor concept, but I think they should have used someone besides duke, like you said, it was almost different to be different, maybe they should have used someone like...hmm.. I'll sum up my feelings in one word; "Crap". Like was said, the artwork and story were ok, but it did try to be different for the sake of being different.

Well, I think it was a really good series, far better than the regular DDP. The plot was brilliantly pesented, and it had very few flaws. I'd give it a 8/10. Of course, you have to approach to it as a kind of "What if..." or "Heroes Reborn" or wathever other example you can find of parallel-non-official story.
Only thing I didn't like was the drawing; quite bad.
