Ironman in the Joeverse
Greetings!
I do like the Ironman figures, but don't really know how to incorporate them into my Joeverse. They are super weapons, and one, or an army of those can dominate the world, sweep aside the Joe team or Cobra and most other toylines. So the question comes up as to how to incorportate them into the Joe universe without unbalancing anything?
So, for those who do incorporate it, how do you do it? What is your secret?

I figured Ironman was part of the Star Wars verse...isn't he part of SHIELD? And the head of SHIELD is Mace Windu.
If I were to do it, I'd incorporate him as is. SHIELD is just another government agency and from time to time they cross paths. I haven't seen the movie yet, but it looks like from the commercials that the military wants the IronMan suit for the military use, maybe he's a predessesor to the Accelerator Suits.

Actually, I have included Tony Stark and Matt Trakker in similar ways.
Matt Trakker (Trakker Industries)-is the 'R & D' aspect of what the JOE team needs. He designs the product and does testing along with his old pal Dr. Alex Sector (and a few others who pull paychecks from TI). These guys are not so much 'G.I. JOE's as they are scientist types who, from hanging around with the military, have picked up some wherewithall on how to operate. But they are not full-fledged JOEs.
Tony Stark (Stark Industries)-is the CEO of the weapons manufacturing end of the G.I. JOE team. His time is spent mostly doing 'his thing' aka *S.H.I.E.L.D. and/or Avengers* work. To that end, Mr. Stark is not readily known to the vast majority of the JOE team. He will come in for meetings with the JOE hierarchy and then be gone long before anybody can bump into him in the hallways.
The link for both of these mega millionaires developing/selling/etc. with the G.I. JOE team comes from what I (and Flint) came up with back at the end of the Marvel run. With the team being disbanded, we wanted to have a realistic way for the team to survive as para-military. I created 'JMS Trucking, Inc.' as a company that was headed by G.I. Joe. He secured contracts with both Trakker & Stark Industries to serve as their sole transportation provider. This agreement has proved financially positive for all parties and (at the time) gave us a reason for the JOE team to continue working-albeit in a more 'A Team/Knight Rider' sense of the word.

With GenScar's idea, I can see Stark Industries and Trakker's outfit being the Joe equivelant to MARS.

Exactly. I mean, its not like they're going to enter into an exclusive contract with Laird James McCullen, right?!?

Is there a Tony Stark figure?
I bought an Iron Monger today... going to paint it Cobra Blue and see how that might work in some fashion into my Joeverse. I'm not sure on this, but having a Cobra blue one might give some ideas.

Here in my universe Stark Industries were a competitor of MARS Industry before Stark invented the IronMan armor. Now he's out of the weapon business, athough Stark and Destro are always crossing paths. Specially 'cuz Destro is always trying to steal Stark's technology.
