Wal-Mart & Target
Ok, not sure where to post this, so I just made a new thread...
I have been to both Wal-Mart (3 different ones) and Target (2 different ones) and none of them have received any GI Joe shipments since 2 weeks before Christmas...
Is anyone else (who collects the newer ones) running into this problem? My local Comic store has had 6 shipments since Christmas, but I'm finding it odd that 5 major retail stores haven't seen a single box of Joes in 4+ weeks.

Nope my stores have all restocked. I got the Resolute comic packs last week at Target.

My best guess is that these stores are just holding them until they clear out the X-Mas "left-overs", I just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing the lack of figures.

Interesting... I have felt that way in my usual desperate searching for Resolute Dukes and Cobra Troopers... Always disapointing to search 6 Targets and 3 Walmarts and get nothing.... but excersise... Good think gas is less right now. But I am getting tired of this. I, like you have found better stuff for 50% more $ at a comic shop. I share your fustration.
Toys R Us is flooded with SRO wave 2's right now... As well as the Firefly vs Green Shirts...
I'm south of San Jose, Ca here, I notice you guys are back east... must be the time zone difference...lol...

The Wal-Mart here told me they only carry GI Joe occasionally, it's not one of their regular products. Could be the same situation where you live.

most big retailers don't take on a lot of new stock after the holidays until inventory is completed early in the year. Its the same way here nothing new is being ordered until the after inventory "resets".

I spoke to the Wal-Mart toy manager... he claims that the GI Joe "action Figures" are on a restricted production line and they are made to order with limited quantities for each store, and that their is a slim chance they will get anymore in anytime soon, since they are hard to find. I told him he's full of shit, asked for his supervisor, and after I explained how he just flat out lied to me, I got a $25 Wal-Mart gift card for my "bad" experience.

It's been hit or miss with me. I've been seeing a lot of older figures out, but little to none of the newer ones. I just got another Resolute Trooper today at a Target, but the pegs were almost bare.

If this makes any sense, retailers have to pay income tax on any inventory remaining for the previous year. The IRS conciders left over inventor as profit. That is why it takes a while into the new year for new inventory to circulate to the stores.

My Fred Meyer hasn't stocked up on anything new lately. We're stuck with Spirit, IG Destros and JetPack Dukes. Worse yet, they upped the price on all GI Joe stuff. I would've thought they'd go on sale after the holidays to get rid of that stock. It's been sitting there, for the most part, before x-mas.
