My Stinkin' Computer's on the Fritz
Hey all,
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know my computer seems to hate me. It's an older Mac (2001), and stops in the middle of booting up. It may be time for a new one, but I digress.
Anyway, between that and the holidays, I haven't been able to get on much.
I'll try to get the problems worked out as quickly as possible, if for no other reason, than to be able to check my email *grrr*
Have fun!!!

Ironically enough that was the same thing that happened to me...
I had to buy basically a new computer.
I'll be awaiting new pictures when you get stuff sorted out, your contributions will be missed!

Dave, I had a similar thing happen with my old mac a couple years ago, so I wound up getting a new one. They're very good machines, but when they go I've found they're pretty much gone.

on a rather funny note I got a good run from my IBM pc that I bought in 97, I didnt get my current one until 06..
That's nearly 9 years... i was quite surprised but considering it was a very well built machine too.

Thanks for the well wishes for my beloved Mac, all!
I got it fixed - well, sort of.
I got online at work today and found a "fix". If you hold down shift+option+command+delete during start up, the computer bypasses (or something like that, I think) the regular start-up procedure and goes into a Safe Mode / Start-up.
It takes a bit longer to boot, but works just as well (and fast) when Start-up's complete. Of course, I figure I'd better start backing up some files, juuust in case
And yeah, the ol' Mac and I have been through a lot together. It was a gift from my parents for graduating college. I learned most of what I know about Photoshop / digital graphics on it. She's been such a remarkable computer for so many years, with nary a hiccup, that I'd never even think of switching to a PC.
Not that there's anything wrong with those
Have fun, gang!!!
