I know one shouldn't dis guitars because it's all very subjective. The best guitars are the ones that feel right in your hands. Unfortunately, you can't just tell the first time you go in. I've bought a lot of guitars and basses and while they felt right at first, a month later, they didn't. I have found too that different guitars produce different creative energies in ya. The guitar I have now, it's been the best one. I scouted that and one other for MONTHS. When I went into buy the Jackson, someone had already bought it (used). So I bought the OTHER Jackson I had been scoping out. One was black, the other dark forest sparkly green. Custom pickups and an installed Floyd Rose (which I'm not entirely happy with).
I tried Fender Strats (to be like Iron Maiden!) and I tried Les Pauls. I have had a few different Ibanez guitars and cheap end Fenders. Nothing felt right. I can't play a Strat. Feel is all wrong.
BUT I admit, and this is remotely amusing, I can play a BC RICH (which are pretty low end guitars) guitars, no matter what style it is. In fact, I love playing them. I know they get dissed by the guitar community but man, they have THE most wicked shapes and are incredibly comfortable and easy to play!
NOw the question is, do you sticker it up or what? My bass has crap all over it AND I've even dont a little painting on it! The Jackson, I've tried to keep pretty mint. But the Floyd Rose is soooooo low that I've scratched the body up when changing strings (stupid allen wrenches...). I've considered leaving the locks off since I drop the E to D a lot. I have 1 sticker on it and that's to hide the scratches. lol
So... what'd you get for an amp?
Got any questions, ask away!

Oh hey, hit this link and save it for later use. It's a tablature site where you can find just about anything you want. I can't vouch for how accurate the stuff is since some of it sounds really weird on guitar. (like, are they playing too high up? Doesn't sound that way on the album)

Oh man, tab is so easy once you get the hang of it. If you ever bother with early Metallica tunes, it's all Low E-string so... lol

If I were a more involved customiser, I would already be picking out parts to make a Dreadnok whose accessory was that guitar (with sharpened edges of course...)!
Sonn -- do you know of any other sites that are good for bass tabs in particular...?
