What? Introductions? Oh, right, er, I guess it's time I introduced myself (now that this thread has been here for weeks).

My name is Ryan; I'm 22 and live in Austin, TX where I'm working for an environmental engineering firm. I have one semester left in civil engineering at the University of Texas here and I'm not sure what or where I'll be after that. I have a wonderful wife, Katherine, whom I married just over a month ago.

I've been into Joe since I can remember; I believe my first figure was Recoil, given to me by my parents as a reward for doing something good (don't remember what). That began a long obsession with the toys that lasted until adolescence. My main memories of G.I. Joe are from 1988-90, so I have a huge soft spot for that entire era.

Of course, eventually, I decided I was too "grown up" for them, so I tried to eschew anything that resembled "playing" with my Joes, but still couldn't bring myself to part with them. Sooner or later I grew up a little and realized I could have a lot of fun collecting as an adult hobby. My dad and I started to follow G.I. Joe developments and even went to the 1997 Convention in San Antonio (we lived in Houston).

After that, we were pretty much hooked. I've been an avid collector ever since, with a few occasional hiatuses brought about by being busy with school or just moving into other things. In the past two years or so I've really jumped back into collecting with both feet and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I started taking photos of my Joes before finding this site, then lurked here for at least a year and was so inspired by the awesome stuff here that I started putting a lot of effort and (attempted) creativity into photographing my collection.

I'm slowly building a section of my website for my collection (see link below); and I try to feature a lot of my best photos and customs there. I love the community on this site and am thrilled to have some people to share this awesome hobby with.

Yo Joe!
