Well, I do feel a bit pessimistic about the future of the line, but I think we also have to be a bit open-minded (not impliying that anybody is closed-minded ). This is, we can't expect G.I.Joe to continue being like it was in 85. Essencially this is a toy-line, and therefore it has to fit what children like, so evolution is necessary. If G.I.Joe had been in 88 (when I started buying them) the same as in 82, I'm not sure I would have liked them in the same way I did, and probably I wouldn't be here.
So, while these figures are definetely not the same as the ones I started buying then, they are G.I.Joe; some of them I don't like, some others I desperetely want, just the same as all the rest of the figures sold from 82 to present. If this new turn in construction is going to mean a new begining, the start of a yet another try to re-introduce Joes in mass market, even if there is not a new TV show, then it is welcome. If it is only a non-significant turn, with no goal other than repeat what DTC has been, then some of you are right and this may be the end of G.I.Joe.
