Default GI Joe Documentary (Please Support)

This documentary was originally inspired by my fascination and admiration of my father's work at Hasbro and his legacy surrounding GI Joe. Over the past 2 years, we travelled together all over the country filming interviews with designers, sculptors, engineers, marketers, executives and 2 national GI Joe conventions. Old friends were reunited, stories and time graciously shared and now through months and months of editing the story is unfolding, revealing it's epic scope and beauty.

Code Name: Blast Off is comprised mostly of interviews with the creative team who share their story of GI Joe - A Real American Hero. Follow the thread from Hasbro's inner most circle chronicling the mid to late 70's when the idea found it's way to the surface in the most amazing way, to the astounding [Multi Billion Dollar] 1980's come back that almost never happened.

Hundreds of photos from Ron Rudat's personal collection of polaroids and candid shots are woven throughout this feature length film.

See artifacts from the days before computers, where almost everything was done by hand and hear first hand accounts filled with passion, detail and emotion. Discover insights into the inspiration and imagination that brought GI Joe back to life, turning an iconic brand into a worldwide cultural phenomena.

Scenes from the forthcoming documentary "Operation Blast Off" featuring first hand accounts of the creation and development of the 3 and 3/4 inch G.I. Joe Action Figures and Vehicles. The story behind the story of A Real American Hero.
