Specifically with Maruader weapons, I have found that it is one of the better times to use enamel paints as opposed to acrylics. No need for sealing, chip resistant.
There are some added steps like you need to stir with a stick the paint. You may consider diluting some of the paint with Enamel thinner. You also need the thinner to clean up the brushes or undo any mistakes, than you finally can clean with soap and water.
