Local news here in Brazil says 8.8, but they are still having ecos there of the earthquake, not to mention Easter Island has risk of being hit by a tsunami. An island 500 km far from the continent was hit by big waves.

A local news station made an interview with a brazilian living there and during the interview he felt a small earthquake. Even Hawaii is endangered by tsunami and all the pacific islands are affraid of a tsunami.
