I remember the debate, because I was firmly on the "keep 'em small" side. But as has been said, I don't think an official size was agreed upon. no taller than 200 pixels seems more than reasonable to me, though. Mine's only 54 pixels tall. I don't really care about width because my monitor resolution is pretty high, but I suppose it's an issue to some folks.
