But to intro new characters (in which they kinda did in the movie, albeit, revamped them) is a crap shoot. I think a lot of the problem with new characters is that in written form, they can be awesome (cept of Hard Drive and Link Talbot). It's their execution that sucks rocks.

Let's be honest here. The 25A/MOdernAge/ROC figures are here. They provide better sculpting and some way out there designs. For the most part, there execution has been quite good. BUT take the latter o-ring days and while good characters were created, their execution as a plastic figure has been iffy.

We can cite CHARACTERS like Bombstrike, Plague, Crosshair and Blackout have been awesome. Their figures range from not-so-hott to ok (by today's standards). C'mon, Crosshair can barely hold a gun and it takes some major manipulation and a lot of patience to make him work. Imagine him with current sculpting. Those wrists can work wonders for him. (give him a better head sculpt too) Blackout? Dude was cross-eyed and suffered arm articulation. Plague still has potential. Bombstrike... Errrrr, give her the modern fix and man... Just fix that pathetic t-shirt!!!

We can site losers like Hard Drive, Link Talbot, Coil Crusher, anything action attack... The t-crotch had some great designs but the lack of proper waist and leg articulation makes them a joke.

So as for the original topic. I'm guessing the figure is faithful (which doesn't often happen) and he has great articulation. Perhaps look PAST the character and see the toy. It is entirely possible that the articulation recipe for Mr Eyes is a prototype of upcoming figures. Certainly, a lot of what VvV and DTC did were ideas for the 25A. (ball neck joints, swivel wrists, etc)
