The appeal to me of a sail boat is the lack of all the automation. My Hunter 30 had an autopilot connected to a charted GPS, radar and depth finder. Pretty much a "point & shoot". Nothing beats putting up the sails with no electronics or motors and letting the wind take you away, except maybe a crew of hot chicks.
