Update time again. I saw the surgeon today and he has me booked for October 5. He told me straight up that it's a very risky operation, and will be one of the biggest he's done in his 20 years of experience, and that they have no choice now but to operate to save my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but that's how it is. I have to have a couple of preparatory day procedures in the week leading up to the operation so they don't have to do everything on the day of the surgery. On a positive note, he said if everything goes well and there's no surprises once he opens me up, then he believes that I may be able to be cured. That's the first time I've been told that since diagnosis. To balance that out, if there's something in there that hasn't shown on the scans, then that could change things entirely. He's not going to remove the tumors on the liver at this stage because the surgery is already complex enough, that will be done at a later date. I can't say I'm looking forward to the surgery (who would?), but it's the last chance I have.
