Default The Cobra Fortress project

So a few years ago, I purchased the Street Fighter movie edition "Shadowloo Headquarters" from someone. To my dismay, though, I found out that the fortress, while reusing the tooling of the very fun 1992 GIJoe headquarters playset, did not bring along ALL the parts. In fact, it was pretty darn barebones!

So, two and a half years later, I managed to kick off my Cobra Fortress custom thanks to my acquiring a lot of 1992 HQ parts on ebay (even though it had a lot of parts I didn't need... anyone need parts for their 92 HQ, hit me up, I may have what you need).

I honestly did not think the green parts would work well with the black/purple/silver of the Shadowloo Headquarters, but it surprisingly doesn't look bad. The brown fits in well, and we end up with a colorful but not overdone fortress.
Had to remove all the stickers that tied this set with Street Fighter too. Now I need some Cobra stickers to liven it up.

Sadly, I'm still short a bunch of parts. I need the gunner's nest near the top of the tower, one of the guard rails for said gunner's nest and the fuel nozzle and accompanying rubber hose.
The breakaway jail cell wall was broken when I bought it, so I'll have to repair that too. I'll have to look at my options there.

So, what do you think? It's no Terrordrome but the concept of a battlefield fortification like this one is more in line with Cobra operations that GIJoe operations.
