Like Star Wars, I didn't think it lived up to the standard of the originals, but then again I'm old and cynical, so what do I know? As a piece of entertainment to fill in a couple of hours it was okay, but like a lot of others, the aliens spoiled it for me. It's one of those films I'm glad I've seen, but have no desire to watch again.
