Regarding the bright colors-- Well, that's just how they were colored in the comics, so you can't blame Hasbro for that.

I do think it's kind of silly to have these repaints so soon, but I get the feeling that, just as they rushed the first wave of single-packs into production due to strong retailer support, they're probably doing the same with these-- Hence a bunch of straight-up repaints. People with inside knowledge over on HISSTank seem to be implying that the second wave of these guys is going to be much more exciting.

As far as the figures themselves-- Hawk, as has been stated by many, is a winner. Except I don't know why he's wearing gloves. But that can't ruin the figure for me. I'll definitely get that pack, even though it comes with a Scarlett that's virtually identical to the five-pack version. Duke and Cobra Commander, I'll pass on. I would've gotten it if they'd re-tooled the original Comic Pack Duke's head and put it on this body, though. Storm-Shadow is missing all the gold trim that many people had complaints about, so that's actually kind of cool. And if Snake-Eyes had glove-less hands, he'd look just like his character design from the original G.I. Joe cartoon mini-series, so I might have to get that pack just to do that to him.
