the Invasion of Cobra Island

on the offical GI Joe: Rise of Cobra website a new video has shown up

http://www.gijoemovie.com/cobraisland/index.html?dl=0

a stop-motion short film "Invasion of Cobra Island" using 25th figures with both vintage and updated vehicals
some funny inside jokes (kids in Hasbro/Paramont shirts for ex.)

great!!!

Haha, cool movie indeed. It's rather stick-motion than stop-motion, but still. Funny how they make fun of Snake-Eyes. And a really floating FLAGG carrier ! Well, close enough, anyway.

That was funny! Hope they do more episodes. Cobra Commander constantly switching figures didn't really work. Guess they were making fun of how many versions there is.

Awesome! I've enjoyed it a lot. Thx for sharing.

That was cute.

I wonder if Hasbro made that themselves or someone from here did. Cuz I know some people here were working on animations of the faces and whatnot.

Cobra Commander sure can transform into other versions pretty quickly!

And it's nice to see everyone is afraid of Snake Eyes. (note sarcasm)

That was enjoyable and funny in a good way. I was wondering the same thing as there was PTE Blackhawk in the first half

Black Knight 08-06-2009 09:27 AM

that was just out right funny. It feels good to laugh that hard.

While it was more stickmation than stop motion, that technique definitely has its uses. Its abundance here really ups the fun ante, to say nothing of how much time it saved them.

Those facial animations are quite impressive. I suspect they're using a pretty sophisticated program to create 'em. I recently did my first foray into that realm using just photoshop:

The sets are great! They got a lot of mileage out of that doorstop ;)

Personally, this is the bomb right here for animation with figures!
