Dreadnoks Way of Speech

Hey guys, I'm new here and starting my first dio and need a few pointers on phrases the dreadnoks would use, like certain words substituted for others and all. Any suggestions would help, like the spelling of certain words and anything you can come up with. Thanx.

Why do you give us the dialogue and we can rework it?

Try rereading so of the comics and watching the cartoon series that should give you an idea.

Sounds good to me. Maybe as an Aussie I can help!

I always wondered if Australian criminals used the phrases and linguistic stylings of the Dreadnoks in the cartoon. I refer specifically to terms like "gor" and "blimey" and stuff like that. I can hear them in my head, but it's been so long since I saw any of the cartoons, I could be imagining them, or confusing them with illiterate pirates. anyway, it would be interesting to have the group translate a phrase to "Australian anti social criminal-speak." lol

I agree the best reference for a Dio would be the comics, If you are having trouble getting a hold of them I may be able to help you out. PM me for details!

The way the 'Noks (and Major Bludd for that matter) spoke in the cartoons was laughable. They sounded more like London Cockneys than Aussies. "Gor"and "Blimey"are not terms you will hear used here. I suppose the producers of the cartoons thought no-one would know any better!

"Cor Blimey" is UK-ian, isn't it? Yangus said it all the time in Dragon Quest Whatever. I'm not sure if I ever did Dreadnok speak. I did do Cajun speak ala Gung Ho tho it lost some people cuz the dialect got a bit thick at times. In addition to the cartoons, watch a lot of funky movies. Pirates of the Caribbean might not help but it might give you an idea when playing with different-speak.
