ShockWave VS ShockBlast
Here's the deal. I have NO access to ebay here in Iraq. But before I left I was looking to buy some of the con figures namely Long Arm and Shockwave. (not a big fan of the Old School Lowlight as I have 4 versions of the 2 variants). But I noticed in more than one case that ShockWave was listed as ShockBlast.
Does anyone out there have the filecard? If so, is the con figure molded from Shockwave V1 ShockWave or ShockBlast? Are they the same person new name? Or two different Characters? Let me know...... |
Hello
Hey!
How are you? How is Irak? Why dont you have access to eBay? |
Frank, the character's official name is "Shockblast", but the file card lists all the same details as Shockwave, so it must be one of those deals where they have lost the rights to the "Shockwave" name. The figure itself uses Shockwave's upper half and the waist and legs from Lowlight v1. Hope that sorts it out for you!
And hopefully all is well with you over there too! |
Decepticon Shockwave
Decepticon named Shockwave 'll be in Trsnsformers the movie sequel, so I.M.O., Hasbro changed the name of "our" Joe Shockwave...
I found now 2 Shockblast 2008 figures on EBAY.COM, their prices: $59.95 and $49.95. Roger? |
same character, different name. look at mainframe...i mean date frame

Ahh, but the Decepticon called Shockwave was also renamed Shockblast a few years ago because Hasbro had lost the rights. Perhaps they're getting the rights back via the movie, as they did for the name Bumblebee. But maybe the con set occurred before they'd re-secured the copyright or something... |
Thanks Guys, that answers my question. I appreciate that!
Carlos, Iraq sucks. It's hot, it's dusty and were stuck on a fortified Military base. I have no access to ebay because sites like ebay, Photobucket, and MySpace eat up too much bandwidth so they are blocked at the firewall over here. Frank |
