Taking Apart 25th Figs?
Is it possible to take apart the body of a 25th Anniversary figure? I know that with the older figures, you just had to unscrew a screw, but since there is no screw, is there any way to take the body apart? (I'm trying to tighten an arm joint)
Please help, again!! |
Yes it is. I found the easiest way is to score the seam under the arm and gently use an exacto blade to cut the seem open after scoring it. If you do this slowly and carefully enough you can open it up, remove the arms, separate the torso, etc. Then you need to glue the torso back together (I suggest Krazy Glue). If you do it right the seam will be perfect at the shoulders and hardly noticeable under the arm.
Hope this helps. |

Tried hitting it with a hammer...and nothing happened. (??) I tried submerging the figure in hot water for a minute to soften the plastic, then scored the sides, and hit it as well, but nothing happened... What am I supposed to do? Hit it gently and it'll just pop open?! Sorry to sound angry, but the loose arm joint is driving me nuts. Maybe my best bet is to just buy another... argh!

I say score the underarm seam with an exacto. Then carefully cut up from the bottom of the torso to the armpit being very careful. EVERY figure I've done this with has popped open with zero problem. Then you simply glue it closed.
I've never used a hammer but careful cutting up the armpit seam works. They key is using a new SHARP blade. |
