A dungeon/Prison scene...Ideas?

I'm trying to build a top notch prison/dungeon scene for my dio story. I tried using gray cardboard fro the background, but it pretty much sucked! (see my "Mindbender back to life" pic!) I'm thinking of printing out some dark grey brick wall patterns for the walls and stone for the floors and seeing how that works.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I would use this for the floor http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Image:Prisonfloor.jpg

This pattern would work for walls http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Image:Bricks.jpg

Hope that helps a bit.

You Could Allways Use A Speckeled Spray Paint That Looks Like Stone For Your Dungen Walls Or Even Sone Cinder Blocks. But Print Outs Is Probly Easiest

I have an idea!!

Ok I have an idea, and it's something i'll be using for my castle walls.
Find a good base card colour for the walls.. The grey is fine.. then get a set of acrylic paints and mix black and white together to make a darker dull grey (but not quite black).
Get a sponge and cut out the sponge into two parts to make two bricks.. when you dip the sponge into the paint mix it absorbs and you can press the effect onto the paper as you like.
Wait for it to dry.. I have a picture here of the castle, throne room (work in progress)

The walls look really good. Maybe the room or bricks would be too big for your prison or dungeon. But if its a dungeon.. I was thinking castle.. and usually they didnt have standard sized bricks.. they were usually huge stones..

WOW Rich, that came out really good!!!

Frank, did you try the links?? They seem to me like they would solve your conundrum......

Whoa Rich, that is over the top....EXACTLY what I was looking for. Now, can I do that??

Urban Saboteur 09-11-2007 07:39 PM

Can you do it?

Lol.. sponges and paint.. sponges and paint!! :o
If I can do it.. and your a marine.. I'm sure you can.. heck.. you've built bridges right?
I'm sure you can knock together some walls and slap some sponges on a piece o card :p

I mostly use print outs or spray paint for my sets, but that idea from Rich is awesome. Great work Rich, and thanks for sharing it! ;) :)

Hey Frank.

Castles and their domains are one of my specialities. If you can get to a Michael's Art store, or have someone make a run for you, they carry a great craft scrapbook paper from a company called "Provost", called "stone path". I use it quite a bit for castles, for city streets, and even for period domains such as the ones I have done for Wowboy, General Hawk, and others. Makes great foundation, and can be hit with a matte sealer to remove the shine of the paper.
